organisations and individuals now offer help in the form of counselling.
Counselling attempts to help people resolve their issues and concerns
by talking them through with a trained Counsellor or Therapist.
This process enables ‘clients’ to gain a better awareness
and understanding of their difficulties and to explore possible
changes they may make to improve their circumstances. Different
counsellors/therapists adopt different methods based on different
theories. These may range from a psychodynamic to behavioural approach.
The client normally meets with a counsellor on a regular basis.
At Relate this would be once each week. Special arrangements can
be made for those working shift patterns. |
